Deacons have been described as the heart of the church. Deacons possess a caring and understanding nature and are willing to devote time outside of worship to build one-on-one relationships with those in need.

Deacons are responsible for reaching out to those within the congregation who need a little extra care—whether homebound due to age or disability, or recovering following a surgery, illness, or accident. They provide comfort to those who are grieving and visit members who are in the hospital. They organize meals as needed for members at home recovering, families following the birth of a new baby and more. Other duties include serving communion during worship services, delivering flowers to members after Sunday services and at Easter and Christmas, organizing funeral meals and receptions, and attending monthly meetings.

If you or someone you know wants to become a Deacon, please contact the Nominating Committee.
