Boy Scouts Troop 2

Troop 2 is one of several active Boy Scout units in Salina, Kansas, serving youth ages 11 to 18. The troop meets at least once a week, every Monday, from 7-8 pm in Blair Hall in the basement of the First Presbyterian Church. We go on camp-outs monthly, and the Scouts enjoy participating in many activities including constructing catapults, canoeing, tubing, water skiing, motorboating, dutch oven cooking, hiking and backpacking, fire building, and outdoor survival skills training. Long term summer camp at Camp Hansen presents opportunity for archery, shooting, climbing, many merit badge opportunities and the popular Golden Eagle program for return scouters.

Founded in 1916, Troop 2 is over 100 years old. It was for years believed to be the second oldest, and longest continuously chartered troop west of the Mississippi. We have learned that isn't quite true, but it is one of the very few with that distinction. We have produced over 115 Eagle Scouts. We welcome new members, who will be guided through their scouting career by 100% Wood Badge trained adult leaders . These dedicated adult leaders have a combined scouting service time that totals well over 100 years. We hope to meet you soon.
