Worship With Us!

Worship is central to the life and the hope of First Presbyterian Church Salina.

We believe we come to worship not just for ourselves, but for others. Worship is often the

“front door” by which people come to God through Jesus Christ, the Head of the Church, and to our

community of faith.

We are committed to creating worship that is meaningful and nourishing to one’s heart and soul, and

creates opportunities to fully experience the love and grace of Jesus Christ.

christmas eve services

December 24th, Christmas Eve, will be celebrated with two services:

5 p.m. - family-friendly worship in the sanctuary with carols and candle lighting

10 p.m. - traditional worship in the sanctuary with the Lord’s Supper, candle lighting and music from the Chancel Choir.

midweek manna

wednesdays 5:15 p.m. (Sept-May)

Manna: Spiritual nourishment of divine origin.

Midweek Manna is First Presbyterian’s response to the belief that worship can take many forms. Held weekly during the school year, this gathering makes it easy for everyone to have time together to worship in a much more casual setting. It combines a meal beginning at 5:15 p.m. with worship at 5:45 p.m. that includes prayer, an interactive message, Communion and the singing of new songs and old hymns led by our Midweek Manna musicians and singers. We strive to have everyone feel nourished in body and spirit as the service concludes by 6:15 p.m.

We enjoy worshipping with every generation together in one space, so there is no nursery for this service.

This service is held in the lower level of our church in Blair Hall.

We are always in need of volunteers to help with setup/cleanup of meals and communion preparation. If you are interested, please contact the church office. Click here to view the volunteer instructions.

summer midweek manna

The summertime version of MWM is designed to be relaxed and focused on prayer and community. Catered meals are not served during summertime MWM. Instead, participants are encouraged to bring food (enough for you and for others) some weeks, or to gather together after the service for a meal at a local restaurant of the group's choice. (Your meal cost will be covered if you need.)

We usually gather for MWM's summertime service in the chapel, though there may be some exceptions. Our focus is on prayer, contemplation and fellowship. We experiment with various liturgies to suit our needs and tastes, aiming for a low-key, informal and relaxing summertime experience.

Special Services

Our church has a variety of special services during the year. This may include Boy Scouts Sunday, Bee the Church Sunday, Gifts of Women Sunday, Riverfest Sunday and services led by the children and youth of the congregation. The Chancel Choir provides special Christmas and Easter cantatas.
